Block Craft Printed Cards
July 19, 2017
Ta Dah!
This little matching gift tag was so easy. I just cut a basic tag shape, printed the design using the wooden printing block, punched a hole and added a little matching pom pom trim.
This gift tag is on the textured card, you can see what I meant earlier about that giving a more mottled look.
I've loved playing with this carved wooden printing block, even with just one block and one colour of paint you can get different looks. I've got some more ideas of how I'm going to use this block next - it's not the last you've seen of it I'm sure! The Arty Craft Place have a blog with more ideas too if you want to check it out.

what can go wrong
It has been some time since I have made handmade cards but it certainly does make a difference in the emotions they carry.
ReplyDeleteI agree Elise, I always feel a bit special if I receive a handmade card!
DeleteWhat a wonderful goodie bag and that stamp looks fantastic, good ideas. Have a good week Julie x
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline, I do love a good goody bag, this one was especially fab. I just need to get round to having a play with everything that was in there.
DeleteThese are awesome. I love the variety you have achieved trying out different techniques and effects.

Thanks Caroline, considering I only used the one stamp and the fabric paint in the starter kit I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get really different looks.
DeleteAt our local show there is always a class for a greetings card. I have entered it for many years now and only yesterday I was thinking what can I do this year. BOOOOOM! there you have it. Bookmarking right now. Inspirational! Jo x
ReplyDeleteHa ha, happy to have helped Jo. You have inspired me enough times, so happy to have returned the favour!
Deletethese look lovely! I haven't had a go with mine yet. I was going to comment and suggest it would look lovely with a bit of embroidery, but I see you got there before me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. Last weekend I was moving the bag from where I had dumped it when I got in from the show (friends were coming round and you know how that makes the house tidy!) and realised I had a bag full of goodies waiting to be played with.
DeleteI'm really pleased with the how the embroidery on the stamps comes out, I think I'd like to expand on that idea sometime, as well as trying out all the other stuff in the bag.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too. :-)
These are lovely! I especially like the idea of embellishing the stamps with stitching, so pretty and personal!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I had fun making these so I'm glad you like them.
DeleteEmbellishing the cards with embroidery makes them so pretty and special. I really like reading how you gave them your own mark. Beautiful and personal. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words Leanna.
DeleteI love the sewn cards best of all but they are all fabulous Julie
ReplyDeleteThanks Amber, i think the stitched ones are my favourites too.
DeleteJulie this is such a fun idea. And its uses are endless. I really liked the embroidery stamp you made, and the cards are also very cute.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mary, I am thinking of some new ways I can use my block stamp now.
DeleteSo pretty, I love the embellishments!
ReplyDeleteI love those cards, especially the embroidered ones. So pretty! Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty link Party this week. Pinned!
